Double-walled fittings are used primarily as heated fittings in the food industry where the transported product needs to be maintained at a higher temperature. This means that the product contains substances (fats) that solidify at normal room temperatures or that have a high viscosity that prevents their transport through pipes at temperatures around 20 °C.
Heated fittings are divided into several groups: Heated pipe sections (pipes, bends, T-pieces) – and heated control fittings (butterfly valves, ball valves) and special pipe sections, such as filters. All heated fittings have a double jacket through which hot water flows, which heats the fittings and thus keeps the conveyed product in a liquid state.
